THE TRÖEGS NUGGET NECTAR FIRST SQUEEZE 2018

WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 24TH @ 4 PM

Each January brings a growing cadre of delicious, highly-sought and beautifully-wrought hopped-up brews. Among our most anticipated favorites is Nugget Nectar, from Tröegs Independent Brewing up in Hershey, PA.

On Wednesday, January 24th, we will pour Nugget 7 different ways, including the very first 2018 kegs of Nugget Nectar for Washington, DC!

In addition to Nugget Nectar on draft and nitro pour, in what has become a yearly tradition, we will pour 5 different casks of this alluring elixir. Each cask will have a different dry-hop treatment, adding nuanced layers of flavors to an already unbelievable ale.

We also nabbed a few rare beers from Tröegs’ Scratch series, including Scratch 305: Cranberry Porter and Scratch 306: Session IPA.

For the second straight year, Tröegs has asked 14 local artists, including one from Washington, DC, to each create a commemorate poster inspired by Nugget Nectar. Complementary prints of these limited edition posters will be available while supplies last.

There is no admission fee for this event and all Tröegs drafts and casks will be priced individually by the glass and in 4 oz. pours.

Not to be outdone, our upstairs bar, ChurchKey, will feature 25 different drafts from our friends at Aslin.

THE ASLIN BEER COMPANY TAP TAKEOVER AT CHURCHKEY – 25 BEERS ON DRAFT!

Join us on Tuesday, January 30th, as ChurchKey hosts the fine folks from Aslin Beer Company. On this night, we’ll showcase 25 different beers from the red-hot brewery from Herndon, VA!

Over the upcoming weeks, Aslin is hosting a series of exciting events in Washington, DC leading up to the grand opening of their brand new tasting room. ChurchKey is honored to kick things off with the first official DC event, featuring one of the largest collections of Aslin beers ever assembled!

Highlights from the incredible list include Cocoa Mapalm, an Imperial Stout finished with cocoa nibs, maple syrup and vanilla; Sorbet, a juicy IPA infused with peach and mango; and Pinkies Up, a quintuple dry-hopped, 18.4% abv Imperial IPA.

If that wasn't enough, we'll also be giving away a limited amount of Aslin x ChurchKey glassware, available exclusively at this event. Make sure to get here early to snag yourself one of these limited release collector's items!

CHURCHKEY WELCOMES GREEN BENCH BREWING COMPANY

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 2ND @ 4 PM

Join ChurchKey on Friday, February 2nd as we welcome our good friends from Green Bench Brewing Company. Founder/ Head Brewer Khris Johnson, along with Head Cider/ Mead Maker Brian Wing and Sales Manager Mason Stotz, will be in the house while we pour 12 different drafts from the out-of-market brewery from St. Petersburg, Florida!

Located on Florida’s gulf coast, Green Bench produces a wide array of styles, including hoppy IPAs, rustic farmhouse ales and foeder-aged sour beers. Rarely available in the DC market, don’t miss this opportunity to sample their incredible lineup of beers and ciders, and to say hello to some of the best in the business.

Highlights from the evening’s list include Sleeping Dragon, a wine barrel-aged Sour Blond Ale conditioned with dragonfruit; The Obscure, a rum barrel-aged Barleywine, and The Northerner, a Cyser finished with Montmorency cherries.

PERENNIAL TAKES OVER CHURCHKEY - ABRAXAS & SUMP VARIANTS + MORE!

Join us on Wednesday, February 7th, as we welcome our good friends from Perennial Artisan Ales. On this night, we’ll pour 20 different beers from the St. Louis brewery, including multiple versions of Abraxas and Sump!

One of our favorite releases of the year, Abraxas is an Imperial Sweet Stout finished with cocoa nibs, vanilla beans, cinnamon sticks and ancho chili peppers. We’re thrilled to showcase 5 versions of Abraxas, including 3 different vintages, plus limited release variants Coffee Abraxas and Vanilla Abraxas on draft.

Not to be outdone, we’ll also pour 3 versions of Sump, their exceptional coffee-infused Imperial Stout. Fans of this beer won’t want to miss a keg of Sump: Costa Rica Las Lajas, a brewery only release steeped on organic coffee beans from Costa Rica’s Central Valley.

Other notables include rarely seen kegs of Devil’s Heart of Gold, Static Electricity and Perennial Pilsner.
